So here’s a funny little story for you…TACFIT Commando Bodyweight Workout

I worked out in our yard today, and some of our neighbors were outside at the time.

 I did a funky warm-up that my friend Scott Sonnon showed me, and then I jumped right into his Israeli Special Forces TACFIT Challenge. It’s the one I told you about yesterday.

Holy Smokes!

It was only 20 minutes, but I was completely drenched in sweat when I finished. Not surprising since it was already in high 80s with high humidity when I started the workout…but the workout was tough too!!!

Incredibly, I didn’t feel “wasted” like I normally do at the end of a killer session. I actually felt energized.

It must have something to do with the crazy looking bodyweight exercises Scott put in the program. Oh, and I guess that’s what the neighbors was staring at too…

At first glance, the movements in the Challenge are almost circus-freak wacky. But it’s amazing how natural they feel once you start doing them.

Scott told me it’s because the movements are based on sound biomechanical principles. In other words, we’re SUPPOSED to be able to move like that. We’ve just forgotten how.

I’ll fess up, though. I did have to use the slightly easier “Recruit” level for some of the exercises. It’s cool that there are different levels built in, because that means anyone can do it regardless of where you’re starting out. I managed to do more at the “Commando” level than I did last time, so I can tell my progress will be quick if I stick to it.

And to be honest, I kinda like the stares and crazy looks I get.  I also LOVE that I can get outside to train. No more being stuck in the dim and damp basement for me!
